Cycling Navigation Prototype
A cycling navigation prototype on open source maps, a learning project from Hack Your Weekend.
About the project
At Hack Your Weekend I helped one team build navigation for cyclists. The prototype is built on open mapping services, no paid API.
The goal was to show that working navigation can be built on open source, and to give the team a foundation to build on. The journey was the point, it was mainly about helping and learning something along the way.
Why I built it
- Helping a team at Hack Your Weekend.
- Proof that navigation works on open source.
- A foundation the team builds on.
How it works (under the hood)
- Maps via Leaflet, open mapping services.
- A cycling navigation prototype in the browser.
- No paid mapping API.
