Local Suno.ai: Generating Music on Your Own Hardware
A local counterpart to Suno.ai: generating music on your own hardware via MusicGen, 100% offline.
About the project
Suno.ai can generate music from text, but it runs in the cloud. I was curious whether I could get something similar going on my own computer. So I built my own song generator via MusicGen that runs entirely locally.
I'm fascinated by how much runs on your own hardware today without the cloud. This is another piece in my collection of local AI experiments, full control over the process and the data.
Why I built it
- I wanted AI music running on my machine.
- A fascination with what local hardware can handle.
- Full control over the process and the data.
How it works (under the hood)
- Music generation via MusicGen (PyTorch).
- Python/FastAPI backend, Next.js frontend.
- Runs 100% locally, no cloud.
